Ingredients:
2/3 cup molasses (Grandma's Gold Label -unsulphered)
4 Tbsp. granulated sugar
4 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 large onion
Salt pork or bacon
2 pounds Michigan Navy Pea Beans

Directions:
Directions:
Sort, wash, and soak the beans overnight. In the morning put a pinch of soda in with the beans and water and bring to a boil. STOP! Drain the beans and wash well with hot water. Saute one large chopped onion. Put washed beans back in kettle (I use a small roasting pan) and just barely cover with water.

Mix the molasses, sugars, and mustard and add to the beans. Add sautéed onion and whatever fat it was sautéed in. Slice salt pork or bacon and lay over the top of the beans. Cover and bake for 6 hours at 325º. After 5 hours of baking, add and stir in the "egg" from a package of Lipton's Chicken or Noodle Soup mix.
