1 large onion chopped
8 oz container sliced mushrooms (Optional, my kids didn't like them)
2-3 cups shredded leftover turkey
2 tbs sugar
black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Saute the onions and mushrooms in teriyaki sauce in soup pot. Add broth. Bring to boil, add rice or barley, reduce to simmer. Stir in turkey any time. Add spices and sugar, tasting to get spices right. It is easy to make it too hot. Allow to cook for a while. If desired, may sprinkle some chopped fresh broccoli over the top for the last 10 minutes of cooking.

Personal Notes:
This is from my friend Cherri Riecke. Casey and Bonnie loved it, I usually had to made two or three pots at Christmas and Thanksgiving. Some people don't like the teriyaki flavor and the sweet heat; it is a different taste.
