1 cup raisins
1 cup currants
1 cup beef suet
1 cup carrots
1 cup potatoes
1 cup apple
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup molasses
1 tsp. baking soda

In large bowl mix all ingredients to-gether. Stir well. I use 28 oz. tomato cans . Wash and rinse cans. Lightly grease the inside of them . Put in mixture to 3/4 full. Place foil on top holding it on with an elastic. Put water in large pot and place cans inside. Water should only come about 1/4-1/2 up the sides of the can. Place lid on pot and steam puddings for 3 hours. Freeze well. Make sauce of 1 cup brown sugar. Stir 1 tbsp. of cornstarch into br. sugar. Add 1 cup of water. Stir. Pinch of salt. Cook this til it thickens. and add 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 tbsp butter into sauce when thickened.
