"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for White BBQ Sauce, by Jane Bolinger, is from The Sharp Family Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise 1/2 cup lemon juice 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup white vinegar 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 4 tsp salt 1/8 cup black pepper
Place all ingredients in a blender and mix thoroughly. Use for basting as you cook and save some for extra sauce at the table! Great for pork and chicken. My brother, Bob, once added this to grilled fish and liked it. He placed a fish fillet on foil and added sliced onions and green pepper along with the white sauce; sealed the foil and grilled the fish.
approx. 3/4 quart
This was given to me by Aunt Mireta years ago and was supposed to be very similar to Bob Gibson's white BBQ sauce. I have enjoyed using it and have shared the recipe with many!
