3/4 cup boiling water
1/2 cup uncooked oats
3 tbsp. shortening
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 egg
2 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Pour hot water over oats in bowl. Let stand until cooled somewhat. Stir in other ingredients to mix well. Needs no kneading.

Let rise once in bread pan or round on baking sheet, about 1 1/2 hours. Bake at 375 for 50 to 60 minutes.

Molasses adds flavor, but can use honey or corn syrup, or even pancake syrup.
Especially good while still warm.
