1 cup catsup
1/2 cup water
1 small yellow onion, chopped
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 TBS brown sugar
2 TBS molasses
2 TBS dry mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp red pepper, ground
1/4 tsp fresh lemon juice

In a large saucepan combine the catsup, water, onion, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, mustard, garlic powder, chili powder, ground red pepper, and lemon juice. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. To use, brush beef, lamb, pork, or poultry once or twice with sauce during the last 15 minutes of smoke cooking. If desired, reheat and pass additional sauce. To store any remaining sauce, cover and refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
