1/2 teaspoon salt
6 cups flour
1 large cake yeast
4 1/2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 lb butter
3 cups milk

*Use a pan that has sides, as butter melts during cooking

Directions:
Directions:
Sift salt, sugar and flour. Crumble yeast over flour mixture.

Add three cups cold milk and mix well.

Put on floured board and knead until not sticky, adding more flour as needed. Roll into large rectangle.

In center of rectangle, slice one stick butter. Take one side of rectangle and lap over center.

Slice another stick of butter on top and lap other side over.

Roll out again into another rectangle, slice another stick of butter on 1/2 of the rectangle and lap over.

Refrigerate 10 minutes. Roll out again. Cut into four strips lengthwise and then cut into squares.

Fold each square into a triangle. Refrigerate overnight. Brush tops with milk and sprinkle with salt.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
