1 pkg. yeast
1 cup sour dough starter
5 1/2 to 6 cups of sifted all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bow soften yeast in warm water. Blend in sour dough starter,salt & sugar. add 2 1/2 cups of flour and beat 3-5 minutes with electric mixer. Cover, let rise until light and bubbly, about 1 1/2 hours. Combine soda & 2 1/2 cups of flour, stir into dough. Add enough additional flour to make a stiff dough. Turn out on lightly greased baking knead 5 to 7 minutes. Shape into two round loves. Place on lightly greased baking sheets, with sharp knife make diagonal slashes across top of loaves. Let rise until dough doubles in (1 to 1 1/2 hours) Bake in 400 degree oven 35-40 minutes. Brush with butter.
