1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. plain flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. water
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
5 slices pineapple
5 stemless maraschino cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Place 1/4 c. butter and brown sugar in the bottom of an iron skillet and put in oven until butter melts. Place pineapple slices in a circle on top of the butter and brown sugar mixture. Put maraschino cherries in the center of each pineapple slice. Combine the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Pour over pineapple slices. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes before turning cake upside down on plate. Serve warm.
