3 c whole milk
1 bay leaf
3 blades mace
1/2 c butter
3/4 c flour,
salt and ground black pepper

Directions:

Gently heat milk with bay leaf and mace
melt butter in a pan
add flour
mix with a whisk
cook 2-3 minutes
strain milk into flour mixture, mix until smooth. Bring to a boil, stir constantly. Cook 4-5 minutes, add salt and pepper.
