2 Tbls butter
2 cups sliced onion
4 cups beef broth
2 Tbls dry sherry or white wine
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
6 slices cubed French bread
Provolone, Swiss or mozzarella cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Cook onions and butter on low heat until caramelized. Stir often to prevent burning. Combine broth, sherry, Worcestershire sauce - stir. Add to onions. Heat on stove.

Add soup over bread. Place cheese on top and bake at 350º until bubbling or cheese is golden brown.

This is our favorite soup and always a favorite with company. Easy, but impressive. I recommend cooking the onions outside on the grill. Your house will smell forever like onions if you don't!
