2 cups sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup butter
1 cup (1/2 pkg.) dates, chopped
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, milk and butter in saucepan. Boil until a drop forms a hard ball when dropped in cold water. Add dates, nuts and vanilla.

Thoroughly wet a cloth an lay on counter. Pour the candy into a roll shape on the cloth and roll up in the cloth. Let sit overnight or until hard and cloth is dry. Unroll and slice.
