1/4 cup butter or margarine 3/4 cup sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp. grated lemon peel 2 cups sifted flour 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 3/4 cup milk 1/2 cup nuts 2 tsp. lemon juice 2 T. sugar
Cream butter and 3/4 cup sugar. Add eggs and lemon peel, and mix together well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture, with milk, stir in nuts. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake 350º for 50 minutes. Let cool in pan 10 minutes. Spoon mixture of lemon juice and 2 T. sugar over the top.
