2 cups water ½ cup flour 1 cup brown sugar Salt 4 tbsp butter 1 tsp vanilla
Boil water. Mix together in saucepan brown sugar, flour and salt. Add hot water, stirring briskly. Cook until thick. Add butter and vanilla. Serve warm on any fresh or stale cake slices (Pound cake is good). For lemon sauce add ¼ tsp. nutmeg and 3 tbsp lemon juice.
