6 C apples, pared and sliced thinly (Northern Spies or other tart apple)
1/2 C sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. melted margarine or butter

Topping:
3/4 C sugar
1/2 C flour
1/3 C butter or margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together all ingredients (not topping ingredients) and put in 8" greased square pan.

Mix all topping ingredients to crumbling mixture and sprinkle over apple mixture.
Bake at 375 for 45 minutes or until apples are done.
Serve warm with Cool Whip or ice cream
