1 cup butter browned
2 cups brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
1t vanilla
3 cups flour
1t soda
1t cr of tartar
1/2 t salt

Directions:
Directions:
brown butter well, don't burn. Pour over br. sugar. mix well & add eggs, vanilla and sift in dry ingredients. Form in 2 rolls in wax paper and refrigerate for several hours. Slice thinly, bake 12 min @ 375, makes 5 doz.

Mom made these often and were Dad's favorite. Pat Daugherty loves them. Mary Hutchison was the Mother of Bernard, he was in Jerry & JoAnns class in high school.
