2-1/2 lbs. green beans
1/2 lb. butter (or less)
1 cup crumbled crisply-cooked bacon
1/4 cup blanched, sliced almonds
1 tsp. MSG
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. kosher salt

Directions:

Snap off tough ends & remove strings from beans. Cut in half and steam until tender crisp. DO NOT OVERCOOK! Melt butter & add remaining ingredients. Toss with beans and serve at once.

This is DEFINITELY not one of the healthiest bean recipes but I use it only once a year ... at Thanksgiving or Christmas. Many people have asked for this recipe over the past 30 years. It is one of my family's favorite dishes during the holidays. ENJOY!
