2 cups sugar
1 - 15 oz. box seedless raisins
2 cups water
1 cup Crisco

2 tsp. baking soda

Sift together:
4 cups flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Cook Crisco, water, sugar, and raisins until Crisco is melted. When cool, add baking soda, stir well. Add rest of sifted ingredients.

Using two (2) loaf pans or one (1) bundt pan (greased & floured), bake in slow, pre-heated 275 degree oven, approximately 1 hr. 20 minutes (done when toothpick test is clean).

Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing.
