2 cups whole milk
2 large eggs
2/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Place milk in top of double boiler over slowly boiling water and allow to scald. Milk is scalded when a film forms on top. Beat eggs, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Slowly pour into the milk, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens enough to lightly coat the spoon. Remove from heat and pour through a strainer into a bowl. Let cool, then mix in vanilla extract.
