1 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 cup milk, scalded
1 oz. yeast, dissolved in 2 T warm water
6 eggs, well beaten
6 or 7 cups flour
filling:
3 lb. prunes, cooked
1 qt. applesauce
sugar to taste
topping:
1 (16 oz.) dry cottage cheese
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar

Directions:
Scald milk; add shortening, sugar, salt, beaten eggs and yeast. Then beat in flour; cover and let rise until double in bulk. Make 9 or 10 balls and place in pie tins, 1 ball in each tin. Let rise 10 minutes. Pat down with fingers pushing to the edge, making small edge. Let rise 5 minutes. Put on filling and spread cheese topping on. Bake at 350º for about 20 minutes until brown. Topping: put cheese through grinder and mix with eggs and sugar.
