1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sour milk
1 t. soda
1 egg
pinch of salt
1 t. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups rhubarb, cut fine. Finely chopped apple may be used instead.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add egg and beat. Add sour milk and dry ingredients. Add rhubarb last, then sprinkle with topping of 1/4 cup white sugar, dash of cinnamon and chopped nuts. Bake 45 minutes at 350º in 9 x 13 pan. Test with a toothpick before taking out of oven.
