3/4 cup shortening 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup molasses 2 cups flour 2 t. baking soda 1/2 t. salt 1/2 t. ginger 1 t. cinnamon 1/4 t. cloves
Cream shortening and sugar, add molasses and egg; beat well. Mix flour, soda, spices and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Chill for one hour. Form into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes.
