2 roasting or stewing chicken (about 4 pounds)
2 chicken bouillon cubes
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 T. butter
salt, pepper, sage, thyme (seasoning to taste)
1 (16 oz.) can northern beans
2 cups chopped cabbage
3 cups quartered potatoes
2-3 chopped onions
3 cups chopped celery
2 cup carrots, cut up
1 (16 oz.) can peas
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes

Directions:
Put chicken in a deep kettle. Cover with boiling water. Boil until chicken falls off the bone. Remove Chicken from stock, debone. Add to pot of stock, chicken, vegetables, and bouillon cubes. Add herbs and seasonings. Simmer very gently, covered, about 1 hour - 1 1/2 hours.
