1 lb medium mushrooms
4 tb butter
c finely chopped green pepper
c finely chopped onion
1 c seasoned bread crumbs (Italian style)

Heat oven to 350. Wash, trim and dry mushrooms thoroughly. Remove stems, finely chop enough stems to measure 1/3 cup

Melt 3 tb butter in skillet. Cook and stir chopped mushroom stems, green pepper and onion about 5 minutes until tender.
Remove from heat, stir in remaining ingredients except mushroom caps and 1 tb butter.
Melt 1 tb butter in shallow baking dish. Fill mushroom caps with stuffing mixture, place in baking dish. Bake 15 minutes.
Set oven to broil for 3-4 inches from heat. 2 minutes.
