1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 clove garlic, minced
4 T. (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
2 envelopes instant vegetable broth or 2 bouillon cubes
1 can (16 oz.) tomatoes
1 can (16 oz.) okra
1 can minced clams
1 can (12 oz.) vegetable juice
1 tsp. salt, may omit
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. bottled red pepper sauce, to taste
1 T. cornstarch
1/2 cup cold water
2 cans or fresh (10 oz.) shrimp
About 1/2 lb. white fish, bite-size pieces, optional
Buttered, hot rice

Directions:
Directions:
In a large sauce pan, saute onion and garlic in butter just until soft . Stir in vegetable broth or cubes, tomatoes, okra, clam juice, vegetable juice and seasonings. Heat to boiling and simmer for 10 minutes. Add cornstarch mixed with water (this may be omitted). Return to simmering. Stir in shrimp, clams and fish and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until done. Serve over rice.
