25 cucumbers Pickeling salt water 1 Tbsp alum 4 cups vinegar 8 cups sugar 3 tbsp mixed spices in cloth bag
Cut pickles in chunks and soak in brine of pickeling salt amd water for 14 days. Drain then wash. Cover with alum in water to cover for 24 hours then wash good. Make syrup of vinegar, sugar and spices and cover pickles for 3 days. On 4th day put in sterilized jars and cover with hot syrup and seal.
