3 sticks butter
2 1/4 cup sugar
6 eggs
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup sour milk
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Cream butter and sugar; add egg one at a time. Add milk and flour alternately, then add baking powder and vanilla. Cook at 275º for 1 hour, then increase heat to 325º for 20 minutes longer.
