2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs and enough milk to make 1 cup of liquid
2 tablespoons of melted shortening or vegetable oil

Directions:
Directions:
Add the liquid to the dry ingredients. Mix well. Add the shortening. Turn on floured board and knead lightly. Put in greased bowl and cover. Can be prepared 1 hour ahead of time.

Shape and cook in boiling water for about 15 minutes (depending on size) Makes 4 large dumplings.

For fruit dumplings: wrap dough around fruit and cook in boiling water fir 10-12 minutes.
