1/2 c. fine white cornmeal
1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 t. baking powder
1 t. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 t. bacon drippings

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients. Add egg and mix with enough buttermilk to make a soft batter. Grease a 10-inch skillet with bacon drippings and heat on stovetop. Pour in cornmeal mixture and cook over low heat on top of range. When brown around the edges, turn like a pancake. Brown the other side.
