1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 cup cocoa
Lg. marshmellows (cut in half)

Frosting: 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. butter
5 Tbsp. milk
5 Tbsp. cocoa

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and vanilla beat well. Add remaining ingredients except marshmallows. Drop from tsp. onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 min at 350 . Remove from oven, press 1/2 lg. marshmallow into center of each cookie. Return to oven for 2 minutes. Let cool, then frost. You may use frosting recipe above or do the easy thing - buy canned!
