1/2 c. warm water
1/2 tsp. salt
2 T. dry yeast
1 1/2 c. milk
2 T. melted butter
3 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve warm water, salt and yeast. Scald the milk. Add to milk the following: butter, sugar, salt and 1/4 cup water. Cook slightly, then add to yeast.

Add enough flour to make soft dough. Let set 5 minutes. Knead slightly and roll out thick on floured board. For 5 minutes, let set while rolled out. Cut in rectangles and fry in deep fat turning when brown. This recipe also makes quick bread. To make, double and bake at 400º for 40 minutes.
