4 Tablespoon.. cocoa
2 cups flour
2 teaspoon. baking soda
1 teaspoon. cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon. allspice
1/4 teaspoon. cloves
1/4 teaspoon. salt
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 cups applesauce
1/2 cup dates
1/2 cup raisins
3/4 cup walnuts

Mix dry ingredients. Mix wet ingredients. Mix the 2 together. Poor into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
Icing: 1 3oz package cream cheese,1 Tablespoon.. butter, 1 teaspoon. maple flavoring, 2 cups vanilla. Mis first 3 ingredients, slowly beat in sugar. Frost cake when cool.

Grandma Fjelstead was famous for her applesauce cake. She never used a recipe. This was what she came up with when I asked for the recipe.
