4 tbsp. butter or margarine
2 1/4 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. egg
1/4 tsp. vanilla
3/4c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º F.

In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add egg , beating with a wooden spoon until well blended.

blend in vanilla.

Sift the remeasure flour into small mixing bowl.

Add baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt to flour and stir thoroughly.

Gradually stir flour mixture into creamed mixture and blend thoroughly.

Form dough into 1" balls and roll into cinnamon sugar mixture.

Place balls 2: apart on ungreased cooking sheet.

Bake until done 8-10 minutes.

Remove immediately and cool on cooling rack.
