1 stewing chicken
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp parsley
garlic powder

Cover chicken with cold water. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 45 to 60 minutes until tender. Remove chicken from broth. Remove skin and bones; chop chicken into bite size pieces.

Return chicken to broth.

Add:
1 can chopped tomatoes
3 small potatoes (pared and cubed)
1 small onion (chopped)
1 pkg corn and lima beans
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar

Simmer 20 to 30 minutes until vegetables are tender then add 1 tbsp of butter.
