3-1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
4 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 lb. dates
1 lb. orange slice candy
2 cups nuts
7 oz. coconut

1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Chop dates, orange slices and nuts and combine. Add 1/2 C. flour to mixture; stir and set aside.

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time. Put soda in buttermilk. Add alternately with flour that is remaining. Pour over fruit, nut and candy mixture. Pour into greased and floured 13x9 pan. Bake for 2-1/2 hours at 250.

Combine orange juice and powdered sugar to make a glaze. While cake is still hot, poke holes in the top with a fork. Pour glaze over hot cake. Cool and let sit over night before serving.
