1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/3 cups mashed banana (2 or 3 very ripe bananas)
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup applesauce (makes the bread moist)
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 to 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

Directions:

Cream together butter or margarine and sugar. Beat in eggs. Add bananas and mix. Combine applesauce, milk, and vanilla. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add applesauce mixture and flour mixture to the mixture above and mix. Stir in walnuts. Pour into greased loaf pan or small (3x5) loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees until toothpick comes out clean.
