Salt and pepper the roast (chuck roast), cover with sliced onions, and place in a pan
with about an inch of water. Baste and turn once during cooking.
Cook Roast in a 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes per pound.
If making soup from broth, cover the roast with water roast is about 3/4 done cooking.
