3 C sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 generous teaspoons baking powder

Mix dry ingredients well, add lukewarm water to make a stiff paste.

Cover and let rest about 5 minutes.

Knead a little more than you would normal biscuit dough.

Roll thinner than you would a normal biscuit to absorb less grease.

Fry in hot (360 degree) frying fat in a good cast iron skillet, be sure not to crowd the biscuits.

Fry until browned on one side (about 4 minutes) then turn and brown other side.
