Butter 2 c
Brown Sugar 2 c
Flour 4 c
Oatmeal 4 c
Milk 1 c
Baking Powder 5 tsp
Salt 1 tsp.

Date Filling

Dates 1 lb.
White sugar 2/3 c
Water 1 1/3 c

Directions:
Directions:
Cookies: Cream butter and sugar together and add milk. Add dry ingredients. Roll thinly on lightly floured board. Cut into 2 1/2 inch rounds. Place on ungreased pan. Bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes. Cool and fill with date filling to form sandwich cookies.

Filling: Combine ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer stirring often until mushy. Add more water if to dry or simmer longer if too runny. Cool and spread between cookies.
