1/2 Cup Crisco
3 Cups Sugar
5 Eggs
1 Cup Milk
3 Cups Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 Teaspoons Vanilla
(add 1/2 cup cocoa for chocolate)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and Crisco.
Add sugar and cream until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each.
Blend flour and other dry ingredients and add to batter alternately with milk, to which vanilla has been added.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan and bake 325 degrees for 1 hour 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

My sister Jenny (Virginia) thinks I make the best pound cake ever and at her age 84, I bake it for her for Christmas, birthdays, and every time I go to visit. She doesn't need anything so the cake lets her know I care.

She cuts the cake, freezes it and gets out a slice at a time to enjoy.
