1 c. margarine
1 c. creamy peanut butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
sugar
nuts, chocolate kisses, jam or jelly

Directions:
Directions:
In bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat first 6 ingredients until fluffy. At low speed, beat in next 4 ingredients. Shape into 1" balls; roll in sugar. Place 2" apart on non-greased cookie sheets. Bake in 350° oven 12 to 15 minutes or until browned. Immediately press nuts or candy into cookies, or press with thumb and fill with jam. Cool. Store in airtight container. We usually use chocolate kisses for these cookies.
