3 tsp vanilla
2 sticks butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 cups wheat germ
3 cups oats
1 cup sunflower seeds
2 cups chocolate chips

Mix ingredients together and bake at 375 for 15 minutes.

Aunt Karen created this recipe for Pete Karp's Northern Wilderness Company where it became a signature element in Pete's renowned gourmet lunch. When Pete sold his company, the buyer offered Karen a price for "exclusive rights" to the recipe, which she refused. These are as much an energy bar as a cookie! ~Curt
