1 c. sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. soda
4 tsp.cream of tartar
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Directions:
Directions:
Mix together the first 5 ingredients. Sift together soda, cream of tartar, flour and salt. Add to sugar mixture. Chill dough until easy to handle. Roll into balls and press flat with glass dipped in white sugar. Bake at 375° until lite brown.
