4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp. Anise seed
6 eggs
1 cup oil
2 tsp. lemon extract
2 tsp. Brandy
1 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder and sugar. Add anise seed and mix well. Add eggs, oil, lemon extract, brandy and milk. Make dough. Bake at 350 25 to 30 minutes. Cut in slices and toast until light brown, 350 to 375, 10 minutes each side.

Cinnamon and/or freshly ground nutmeg, and vanilla (2 tsp. each) can be substituted for the anise seed and lemon extract. For chocolate biscotti, one cup of semi-sweet cocoa powder can be substituted for one cup of flour; add almonds, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla (replacing anise seed and lemon extract).
