3 tsp = 1 tbsp 16 tbsp = 1 cup (4 tbsp = 1/4 c.; 8 tbsp = 1/2 c.) 2 tbsp = 1 oz. 4 oz. = 1/4 lb. 1 c. = 8 fluid oz. (16 oz. = 1 lb.) 2 c. = 16 fluid oz. 2 c. = 1 pint 2 pint = 1 quart 1 quart = 4 c. 4 quart = 1 gallon
One pound equivalents:
2 c. butter 4 c. all-purpose flour 2 c. granulated sugar 3 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar 2 c. milk 9 medium eggs 2 2/3 c. oatmeal 2 1/4 c. brown sugar 1 1/8 c. rice 2 1/3 c. dry beans 2 c. ground packed meat
Substitutes:
Powdered sugar - combine 1 c. granulated sugar and 2 to 3 tbsp cornstarch and put in blender for 45 seconds.
Brown sugar - combine 1 c.granulated sugar and 1 to 2 tbsp molasses and mix well.
Tips:
*for bought frosting - double the amount by mixing with a hand mixer. It makes the frosting lighter too. *for a foggy windshield - buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the car. When the windshield gets foggy...just erase it! *use hair conditioner to shave your legs! It is a great way to use up conditioner you don't like and is a great moisturizer! |
