1 cup of sugar
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup evaporated
2 tbsps. karo syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Brown 1 cup of sugar slowly in a skillet until sugar is a brown syrup. Simultaneously mix and cook on low heat in another container:

Pour into sugar mixture when it is browned, and the second mixture is boiling slowly. Cook until soft ball stage when dropped in cold water. Remove from heat; add 1 tsp. butter with 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat until thickened. Add 1 cup nuts (optional).
