2 cups sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup light corn syrup
2 cups peanuts
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in 3-quart saucepan. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves. When syrup boils, blend in butter. Stir frequently after mixture reaches the syrup stage 230. Add nuts slowly when the temperature reaches soft crack stage 280, and stir constantly until the temperature reaches 305. Remove from heat. Quickly stir in soda, mixing thoroughly. Pour onto 2 cookie sheets or 2 - 15 1/2" x 101/2" 1" pans.
As candy cools, stretch it out with a spatula.
