2 cups cornmeal
2 large onions, finely chopped
2 tbsps. self-rising flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp. pepper
Oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:

Combine meal, flour, salt and pepper. Add onion and egg and mix well. Add milk, little at
a time, until batter is smooth and right consistency for shaping with use of teaspoon.

In heavy saucepan, heat at least 2 inches of oil to 375°. Drop batter from side of a teaspoon
into hot oil and fry until golden. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve while hot.
