5 CUPS UNSIFTED PLAIN FLOUR
1/4 CUP SUGAR
3 TSP. BAKING POWDER
1 TSP. SODA
1 TSP SALT

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together all dry ingredients. Cut 1 cup shortening into flour mixture (soft oleo or cirsco)
Sprinkle 1 package yeast in 2 tablespoons warm water, let dissolve and add to 2 cups buttermilk. Pour liquid into dry mixture and mix well.(Dough may be kept in refrigerator until ready for use, let rise before putting in refrigerant)

Roll out, spread melted butter over and then cut with biscuit cutter. Baking in moderate oven.
