1 c. butter
2 c. flour
8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
teaspoon salt
teaspoon vanilla
Preserves (any flavor)

Cream butter and cream cheese together with vanilla until fluffy.
Blend flour and salt in fourths to creamed mixture.
Chill thoroughly.
Roll dough thick on floured surface. Cut into 2 rounds.
Transfer to ungreased cookie sheet. Make indentation in center and fill with teaspoon of preserves.
Bake 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes until delicately browned.
Yield:3 dozen.

Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie. - Jim Davis
